Yard Drains

These are installed typically onto properties that have a negative slope forming a basin or low area in the yard which in turn puts added hydrostatic  pressure onto the house foundation. The soil excavated to a depth anywhere from 2 ft. – 6 ft. depending on the grade and a corrugated, slotted (to allow water in) polyethylene pipe is laid in the trench. The drain pipe is laid into the trench with a slight grade of the soil to allow passive draining of the water to discharge at a downhill area that is lower than the drain pipe. Alternatively, a sump well can be installed to sump pit where it can be mechanically discharged to an appropriate location.
